Mixed Media Play with Tangled Elements & Paper~"Cultivate Kindness"
Hi!
It's Kim today with a little mixed media fun! I wanted to make an Autumn inspired card to celebrate the beautiful colors of the season.
From my Brutus Monroe stash, I decided to use the wonderful coloring pages from the Tangled Elements Fall paper pad, another sheet from the Mixed Media paper pad that is filled with fabulous papers, Prismacolor Pencils and some paint of course! What's mixed media without some splash?
The Tangled Elements Fall paper pad has 24 black and white doodled image sheets in 12 designs. I picked the big leaves, pumpkin and smaller collage page for the background layer. To me, mixed media is all about combining layers with texture and it's so fun!
I colored and fussy cut the three main elements. I used a black Sharpie to go around the edges to get rid of the white cut edges.
I picked one of the translucent papers from the Mixed Media paper pad to use as an overlay for the uncolored Tangled Elements Fall sheet .
Layering the papers is a fast and easy way to build up some texture and depth. I splattered some Distress Paint in Fall colors and let dry. I added the embossed copper edge for some shine as well as some glitter and the dimensional bling. The fiber helps serve as the 'ground' so the elements are not floating. That finished the base. Then I attached it to the cardstock and ... done!
Hope you like it and Have a great day!
