Hi crafty peeps! Jenni here today sharing a card I created from the July ‘Good Vibrations’ release! This turned out to be one of my favorite cards this year and definitely of the summer!
One of my favorite Brutus Monroe consumable products is the Velveteen Glaze. It is like the perfect consistency of frosting and mixes wonderfully together to create different hues of any color you can imagine!
Speaking of imagining, the ‘Seas the Day’ 6x8 Stamp set that is part of the July Inspiration Box is full of so many scene-building stamps. I only used one stamp for this card and it’s the main one of the submarine. After using Aqua Pigments to color it to look like a specific Yellow Submarine, I fussy cut it out and moved it onto the background.
Using several colors of Velveteen Glaze, including Banana Split, Teal Taffy, and Happy Heather, I mix three slightly different shades of similar colors. I used a palette knife to spread the glazes onto plain cardstock and let it dry completely.
I cut the glazed cardstock into pieces to create a trio of colorful waves flowing out behind the submarine. I added foam adhesive to all the cut pieces and image and arranged them on a card base of ‘Not Your Mama’s Cardstock.’ I misted a little Shimmer Mist on top of the entire card.
I am so pleased with the way this card turned out. And although simple, it is a layered confection of happy colors and fun! Thank you for stopping by the Blog today and wishing you all a safe, happy weekend with a little craftiness tucked in blue skies & green seas!
