April Guest Designer- Betz Golden!
We want to give a warm welcome to one of our April Guest Designers, Betz Golden! We were able to meet Betz this year at Creativation and loved her style and talent. She has already been able to play with a few of our stamps and has done an amazing job with them! Keep watching the blog this month to see what she creates for Brutus Monroe!
We asked Betz to share a little bit about herself, her crafting, and also to share a few photos with us. Here's what she had to say:
I am a SAHM of three (ages 12, 14, & 16) in the Southwest. I own a kennel and have bred Golden Retrievers for the past 7 years for mobility, therapy and service dogs as well as pets. Lately I have been working with families of Autistic children that are in need of a service dog. At least half my puppies go into these types of homes. My family helps raise and care for the litter. It is a huge responsibility and great honor to do so and we feel blessed that we have been able to provide this type of service to our community and families in need. We have five Goldens (and a salt water fish tank). Each family member owns one. Three are Gabriel's Angels that visit PHX Children's Hospital. When we are not breeding we are active at the high school. My daughter is a thespian and is in all the plays and musicals. My son is on the basketball team and I make all their meals for away games. Personally, I love to travel and have lived in Germany and visited all over the United States. I rarely turn down a road trip! I'm an avid reader and my favorite genre is Historical Sci Fi. I am learning how to play the piano and spending a lot of my free time in my craft room. I also love to cook and bake!
How did you hear about Brutus Monroe?
I heard about Brutus Monroe through Erin Reed. I met Christopher at CHA 2017 and feel in love with his line! After my first set of stamps I was hooked!
How long have you been crafting?
I have been crafting for a little over 25 years. I started making my own shirts in junior high and my mom's coworkers would see them and ask me to make them one or two. I literally was selling them right off my bag. I got into paper crafting my senior year of high school in which I scrapped my high school years.
What's your favorite type of creating?
It is hard for me to narrow it down. It really depends on my mood and the inspiration I find in my area. I will always scrapbook because keeping those memories is a big deal to me. My Grandma had Dementia and scrapbooks were a great way for her to see her past even though she could not remember it.
Show us some of your favorite creations!
Do you have a favorite Brutus Monroe item and why?
Oh my! This is a hard one for me because I really like everything! First it was the SF snow globe -- reminded me of home and made great shaker cards! That little cute monster is fun too! Right now I am obsessed with the Rockstar Pets! Though I am a dog person, I can't get enough of that sassy cat!
Thanks, Betz, for letting us get to know you a bit! We look forward to our upcoming April Release and are excited to see what Betz creates! If you would like to see more of Betz's work, please check her out on her social media profiles!
