Balloon Animals + Ink Blending with Surface Inks
Did you know that you can ink blend with BRUTUS MONROE'S SURFACE INKS? They go on so smoothly and create fun and vibrant backgrounds!
I made today's card using the new BALLOON ANIMALS STAMP SET and my Surface Inks to create a sunset sky for this birthday card.
I also created a quick process video in which I explain a little better the process of ink blending:
Easy, right? Just remember these few tips:
- Start off the page and then blend on, using light, circular motions
- Break in your foam blending pads by using them- A LOT!
- Take your time and put some elbow grease into it. JUST KEEP BLENDING!
Once my background was blended and looking like a perfect sunset sky, I colored my images in with my STYLE FILE MARKERS and then adhered them and my sentiment to the card. I also took a bit of washi tape and added it to the side for a little more visual interest.
Not only does this BALLOON ANIMALS set make fantastic birthday cards, but it also has some fun sentiments for cards to send just because. Here's a second card I created with this set.
I again did a little ink blending but also left quite a bit of white space. Love how bright the colors look against the white cardstock!
