Color Splash - Life is Art
Hello Dear Crafting Friends,
I am excited to show you this card today because I tried a new (to me) technique for coloring images on a card. I decided to try it because of this great new product I have discovered. It is the Waffle Flower silicon Craft Mat that works wonderfully with Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigments as well as inks and various other mediums. (It cleans up wonderfully, too.)
This card is a standard A2 so I cut layer one from Brutus Monroe Aqua cardstock. On this cardstock I dropped four colors of Aqua Pigment. I used a straw to blow the Aqua Pigments around the paper to create a pleasing design. Having the Waffle Flower Craft Mat made creating in what is normally a messy technique a snap to clean up. I love working on this mat.
Next I die cut an open butterfly and using Raven embossing powder created an open shiney black image to place over the Aqua Pigments. Then I embossed the sentiment from the Brutus Monroe stamp set - Be Brave under the butterfly image. I cut a thin frame out of Raven cardstock and added it to the card layer.
The completed layer one was adhered to a Raven cardstock card base to complete the art card. I toyed with the idea of adding sequins or acrylic bubbles to the finished card but decided against it. But it is always an option!
Please give a new technique that you have been thinking about a try and share it with us on the Brutus Monroe Facebook Fan Page.
Enjoy
