Creativity Feeds the Soul
Last week I gave a glimpse of some of the creations I worked on for the October Release. This week, I'd like to highlight the card I designed using the WATER LILY BACKGROUND STAMP as well as the CREATE A CAMEO set.
The first thing I did for this card was mask off a circle in the middle of my card base. Then I used my Misti with the WATER LILY background stamp and some Versamark ink to stamp the gorgeous background design. After I had a nice, crisp black impression, I used Brutus Monroe ICICLE EMBOSSING POWDER and embossed over the ink.
I also stamped and embossed a piece of scrap paper so that I could fussy cut out some of the flowers from the background stamp. I love that background stamps can be versatile, in that you can use them as a gorgeous background, or you can fussy cut parts out of it to have layering pieces on a card!
I used a bit of pink ink and blended it on over the flowers I fussy cut. I kept the colors very light, so that most of the visual interest is still on the WATER LILY stamp.
Next, I grabbed the new CREATE A CAMEO stamp set and stamped out one of the feminine cameos. I used my Misti again along with the OZ SURFACE INK to stamp several times until I achieved a solid, even color. I then fussy cut the cameo and layered it along with the fussy cut flowers over the masked design. I popped a few of these pieces up on foam adhesive for dimension.
For the sentiment, I actually used one of the quotes from the COZY COFFEE stamp set. I loved this sentiment and thought that it would look fabulous along with this card. After I stamped and embossed it in ALABASTER, I adhered the sentiment to the card.
For a finishing touch, I grabbed some gold foil stickers I found in my stash and added them to the flowers. I always love a touch of metallics on any of my creations!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today! You can find all the items I used here as well as the rest of the October Release items in the store.
Until next time,
