December Release- Fish Tank
Have you had a chance to look at the December Release stamps? There are six amazing stamp sets in this release and today I am working with the Fish Bowl stamp set. This set is so much fun because you have all these great fish images that are perfect for coloring! Fish of every size, a few shells, and some coral are just what you need to create some really amazing ocean scenes. Here is the most recent card I have created with this stamp set.
I started by grabbing a piece of watercolor cardstock. I grabbed the watercolor paper because I was planning on doing more of a watercolor background, but I changed gears and ended up using the Brutus Monroe Polka stencil instead to create some fun circles on just the bottom of the front panel. I thought they looked like bubbles and that fit in perfectly with the ocean theme.
I used the ink colors Sea and Zest to make some subtle greenish circles that faded off into the white cardstock. Then, I used my scalloped circle punch to punch out a semi circle of vellum and layered in over the circles. I also cut a strip of glitter paper and also a scalloped border from white cardstock to layer underneath the vellum.
With a few of my elements layered down, I then stamped out a few images from the Fish Bowl stamp set and used my Brutus Monroe inks to color them in. I just used an ink blending tool and blended the color over the images. Some of the colors I used were Sea, Cabbage, Zest, Aubergine, and Oz. Once the stamped images were colored, I fussy cut them out and then layered them on the card along with the rest of the elements.
I used a different stamp set that I had in my stash to stamp and emboss the sentiment on a strip of paper that I inked with some coordinating colors. I then adhered the sentiment down on the card using some foam adhesive for dimension. I added a cute little starfish to the left of the sentiment.
The very last thing I did was I added some blue sequins here and there to the card front, and then adhered the whole panel down to my card base which I also colored with Brutus Monroe inks.
So that is the card for today! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did making it! This stamp set is really just so much fun!
