Double Floral Gatefold Card
Hello crafty friends! Lauren here, sharing this double gatefold card with one of the gorgeous new floral stamp sets.
I started out stamping these floral images with my MISTI onto a piece of cardstock with Raven detail ink, and heat embossed it with Icicle (clear) embossing powder. I colored the images with Zig markers and then fussy cut the floral edge. When I stamped, I made sure to leave about an inch of blank cardstock on the opposite edge, in order to have some space to wrap around the back of the card (which creates the "door" opening effect). I measured the approximate size of the floral corner, and cut a piece of Alabaster cardstock to 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 inches and score it in the middle, creating a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch square card. I used a scoring board with the cut out floral corners, and scored down the straight edge to create the folding crease, and used double sided tape to stick the creased edges to the back of the card base. This makes the "doors" that open up! I covered the entire back of the card with a piece of Raven cardstock to hide the adhered flaps.
The final step was to create the band around the middle. I heat embossed the sentiment with Alabaster EP onto Raven cardstock and trimmed it down to a long strip. I wrapped it around the whole card, and adhered the ends together with double sided tape. I left it very slightly loose so that it slides on and off easily without catching on the delicate edges of the florals!
