Elegant Florals Featuring Conservatory of Quotes
Hey guys!
I'm back on the blog today with an elegant card featuring Conservatory of Quotes from Brutus Monroe. This floral image is so gorgeous and I've been wanting to try this style of card for a while now.
To start things off, I used my Mini MISTI to stamp the large floral image with Embossing Ink. I used the Alabaster Embossing Powder and my Wagner heat tool to heat set my powder. This is an awesome technique if you plan to do any water coloring because it helps keep your pigments within the right areas. I really like it.
I scribbled some Tombow Dual Brush pens on to an acrylic block and spritzed it with water. I used the colors and a water brush to paint on a base layer of color in each flower section and the foliage. Then, I came back in with the markers themselves and added some shading for extra texture and dimension. I really like how this turned out!
I used a stitched rectangle die to cut down my panel and then used those same colors of Tombow Dual Brush pens to splatter on some color around the panel. I mounted the card panel on a piece of foam for dimension and then adhered it to my white card base. I wanted to leave this card extremely simple because I felt like it made it more elegant!
To finish off my card, I added a few sparkling clear sequins and stamped out 'Hello' from Conservatory of Quotes. Have you tried water coloring any of the Brutus Monroe floral stamps yet? If you give it a try, be sure to tag us on Social Media so we can see what you're working on!
I hope you're all having a lovely week and I'll see you tomorrow for the Inspiration Team Blog Hop! Hugs and love,
