Elegant 'Lace' Stencil Card With Jess
Hey friends!
I'm excited to be on the Brutus Monroe blog today sharing this pretty card! The spotlight of today's card is the Stencil of the Month - Lace! This design is so elegant - I love how you can make a whole card with the stencil alone.
To get started, I chose a few Distress Ink colors for my background. I used this color combination for my card last week and just had to keep creating with it. The colors I chose were Antique Linen, Victorian Velvet, Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot. Such an unexpected combination, but they look amazing together! I used a Mini Ink Blending tool to apply the color through the stencil.
I popped the card front up on foam for dimension. I decided to use a grey card base so that the white on the card front would really stand out. I've been trying to incorporate more colored card bases into my projects lately!
I cut a strip of black card stock and used a sentiment from 'Lucky You.' I used embossing ink to stamp the sentiment with my Mini MISTI and then covered it with Alabaster Embossing Powder. I melted the powder with my heat tool and trimmed the excess off of my strip.
After I adhered the sentiment strip, I felt like the card still needed a little something. I chose to add some dimensional accents to the white space of the stencil design. To do this, I used Antique Rose Crystal Nuvo Drops. I had to set the card aside to dry but it was totally worth it!
I hope this card inspires you to create something today! Be sure to let me know what you think of the card in the comments. What's your favorite combination of colors to use for card making?
Hugs and love,
