Falliday Silhouettes
Hey friends, it's Cassie here with another card to share with you all. Today I wanted to make a Christmas card, but I didn't want to use traditional colors, so I looked through my stack of backgrounds that I had made previously using some Aqua Pigments, and I pulled one that had Pink, Yellow Green, and Yellow along with some splatters of Gilded. To spruce it up even more, I spritzed some Cabbage Surface Spray through the July Stencil of the Month.
I loved the look! I decided to make this look like a Christmas tree branch holding ornaments, and the pinks and yellows were the background lights. I stamped the baubles from the Falliday Silhouettes stamp using Embossing Ink, and then covered one those with some Gadgets & Gizmos Embossing Powder and the other two with some Gilded Sparkle Embossing Powder. I stamped the sentiment with Embossing Ink and covered that with the Gadgets & Gizmos Embossing Powder as well. I wanted my baubles to stand out even more, so I lightly traced around them with a black pen and even added some drawn string and a bow. I used my white gel pen to add some highlights, and then mounted it onto some Not Your Mama's Heavyweight Cardstock.
I'm so happy with how it turned out! I encourage you to hang onto some of those backgrounds that you aren't quite sure what to do with. They come in so handy for quick cards, but they are also great to spark ideas!
Thanks for stopping by!
Cassie
