Feathered Friend Aqua Pigment Colored Card

Feathered Friend Aqua Pigment Colored Card

Hi there! Welcome and thank you for joining me today on the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Blog. This month, the Inspiration Box features a Feathered Friends Stamp Set with some beautiful images. Check it out:

Feather Friends Stamp Set

For today's card, I chose the bird and the branch from the set and stamped them on some Aqua Pigment Paper using B|M Clear Embossing Ink. I prepared the cardstock with the new B|M Magic Powder Bag which is filled with antistatic powder. This little tool is so cute and just perfect for prepping cardstock for heat embossing. It's also refillable!

Next, I poured some Raven Embossing Powder over the stamped images and melted it with my Wagner Heat Tool.

After melting the embossing powder, I used an Aqua Pigment brush to color in the image. I dropped some Aqua Pigments into the wells of my brand-spanking-new Waffleflower Water Media Mat that Christopher sent his team this week. (Thank you so much Christopher!) This media mat is perfect for Aqua Pigment coloring. It has twelve wells for your palette and a large workspace. It is heat resistant, too, so I can heat emboss on it.

I chose the colors Violet and Orange for the bird and Blue-Green and Green for the leaves. I mixed all of these colors to make a brown for the branch. To add detail and dimension, I started with laying down my lighter colors, letting them dry before adding my darker colors.

For the sentiment, I chose "Hello my friend" from the same stamp set, and stamped it on the front of the card with Raven Detail Ink.

Then, I added some scoring diagonal lines, to give a sunshine impression going with the flow of the card from top left to bottom right. I stopped the scoring at the top of the images. To achieve this look, I used a Skor-Pal and a bone folder, holding my panel at an angle in the tool and socring it every 1/2".

To finish off the card, i added some sequins from the Miami Sequin Mix from Cathrine Pooler, also going with the flow of the card moving diagonally from left to bottom right. I trimmed down my panel to 4 x 5.25" and popped it up on foam tape to the front of an A2-sized card base.

I hope you enjoyed this little greeting using Aqua Pigments and embossing powder from Brutus Monroe. I have included a grid of supplies for your convenience below I sincerely appreciate you using these affiliate links when you make a purchase. Thank you for your support.
