Ghost Background (don't be scared)
Hello Friends,
A new year calls for new ideas and techniques. So, let's get started. Using the great products from Brutus Monroe, today's card is all about the ghosting technique. I am new to this process and thought many of you may be also. I must say I am happy with it so far and hope you will try it and also come to enjoy it as much as I do.
Starting with an A-2 gray card base I stamped pin stripping onto the front of the card base using Brutus Monroe Embossing Ink. (Love the tonal stripping!) Next I used water reactive ink blending three colors onto a white piece of cardstock. Using the stencil of the month from Brutus Monroe I spritzed a fine mist of water through the stencil onto the blended background. Dabbed up the moisture with a clean paper towel through the stencil. Lifted stencil off to see the ghost effect. Die cut a stitched oval from the ghosted background and mounted it onto the card base using dimensionals. Stamped the flowers from the Brutus Monroe Botanical Banners set and colored them in using Style File Markers.
If you want a more noticable ghosting effect spritz twice with water and be sure to always use clean paper towels when dabbing up extra water.
Final step is to stamp sentiment banner from the Botanical Banner stamp set and attach to card front along with a few sequins.
Happy New Year!
