Happy Birthday- April Stamp Club
Brutus Monroe's Stamp Club is such a great value! For only $5 per month you can get a stamp set delivered to your door each month, and that includes shipping!
For April, the set for Stamp Club is this set that includes two birthday sentiments. They both say "happy birthday" but they are both a slightly different design. Who doesn't need more birthday cards in their collection? I know I am always looking through my cards to find another birthday one.
To show off these stamps, I used both of them and created three cards that all coordinate but have their own unique look. With a bright, rainbow theme these cards are great for boys or girls. You can send them off individually or even give them as a set.
I started by gathering a number of my Surface Inks. I used Wagon, Jack-O-Lantern, Zest, Cabbage, Sea, and Aubergine.
Using the rainbow array of inks, I created on two of the cards a rainbow sunray effect. One of the cards I did this by masking off the inked areas with washi tape. This worked for me, but if you use tape you have to make sure to remove it slowly and that your tape is not too sticky. My tape ended up tearing bits of my paper, so I ended up with more of a distressed look.
The other card that has the blended rays I did by using some cardstock and just holding it in place to mask off the rays. This works as well, but you have to make sure your cardstock does not move while you are blending!
For my third card, I paired the April Stamp with Brutus Monroe's Birthday Wish Stamp Set. I stamped and cut out the balloon image six times, and then colored each balloon with the Surface Inks as well. I took a white gel pen and added a few fun designs on a few of the balloons.
After fussy cutting and adhering the balloons down to my card base, I drew long strings on them with a black Micron pen.
With my card bases done and colored, it was time to add the birthday sentiments! I cut several pieces of vellum, and then using the April Stamp Club Stamps, I embossed them using Brutus Monroe's Penny Embossing Powder and Embossing Ink.
Then, I just adhered the vellum sentiment strips to the cards and was done! I love stamps that I will get lots of use out of and I can tell these brithday stamps will be well loved in my collection.
If you havent checked out the Stamp Club yet, go ahead! For a flat $5 a month it is a terrific value.
