HOP - UNDER THE SEA!!!

HOP - UNDER THE SEA!!!

Hello everyone!! Welcome back to our blog, to our Hop. Our Mixed Media Team is using our Brutus Monroe products to make an Under The Sea inspired creation!!! If you have not seen them yet, hop over here to see them in our store BrutusMonroe.com.

We hope that you find some inspiration in the projects our team put together.

To start this project hop along, Jenn created a clean and simple card:

Hello everyone! Today I have made a fun easel folio with a pocket that holds a tag and card using items from the June Inspiration Box - Magical Mermaids. To begin, I made my easel base using Raven black cardstock. The easel measures 6" X 6" when folded closed. The pocket is 3". Next I stamped two of the mermaids and the puffer fish from the 6" X 8" stamp set . I then colored and fussy cut them. My easel inside and front panel were created using papers from the Sea Sparkle Paper Pad. Shells were also fussy cut from the paper for the stand of my easel. I have used an aqua sparkle paper as an accent to this beautiful paper. Using foam squares and glue to adhere the fussy cut shells to achieve a "stand" for the easel when open. For the inside of my card, I created a tag and small card to tuck in. These were both made using leftover papers from both the Raven black and Sea Sparkle Paper Pad. For an added touch I added clear Acrylic Bubbles to the front!

Have a wonderful day!

Jenn

This next project Nicole used our stamps to create her card:

Hi everyone! For this weeks project, I really wanted to use this background stamp! It's absolutely fantastic and all of the little ocean images are adorable! I wanted to use it as a background, but didn't want to take away the focus of the main image. To do so, I colored it with three shades of grey copic markers.  It gives them the dimension and highlights they need, but allows the mermaid's colors to pop.  For the mermaid, I used four shades of Aqua Pigments to watercolor her: Yellow for the hair, Fuschia and Blue Green for her mermaid clothes and tail and Pearl to add a layer of shimmer.  I even added a very small amount of Fuschia to her cheeks to make them rosey! Once everything was dry, I fussy cut her out, popped her up on foam dots and added the sentiment, which I also painted with a layer of Pearl Aqua Pigments. In the end, this made a really cute, 4"x4" finished card!Social Link:  https://www.instagram.com/colebys1981/

Enjoy!
