Whimsy Cards featuring Rock Star Pets stamp set

Have you seen the Rock Star Pets stamp set from Brutus Monroe? I absolutely love the joyful bulldog and whimsy cat with attitude. I made two cards featuring each of these Rock Star Pets!

My first card features the jovial bulldog wearing headphones! He make me laugh every time I look at him. I paired Rock star Pets with the "Love Your Face" stamp from the Super Sentiment stamps set and the background is made with the cassette stamp from the Brutus Monroe's Stamp of the Month (June19)

I used a 4" x 3" piece of Sweet Sentiment cardstock for the bulldog stamp. I stamped him in Raven Detail Ink and colored him with my Spectrum Noir TriBlend alcohol markers.

I fussy cut the image and set it aside. If you look closely at the picture above you will see there is a super fine sparkle to the Sweet Sentiment cardstock. I love this effect as it really brings a striking effect to your coloring mediums you use.

Using Raven Detail Ink, I stamped a random pattern of the cassette image from the Brutus Monroe June Stamp of the Month on a piece of 5 1/4" x 4' piece of white cardstock

I stamped the Love Your Face sentiment on to a piece of 5 1/2" x 1 5/8" blue printed card stock with Embossing Ink about 1" for the left. I next used Alabaster Embossing Powder and my heat gun to set the powder.

Using double sided tape I attached the blue embossed cardstock strip to the front of the white cassette stamped background 1/2 inch above the bottom edge

I used adhesive Foam Tape on the back of the cassette background and centered it on top of a piece to a 5 3/8" x 4 1/4" piece of red cardstock.

Using double sided tape I attached this piece to the white A2 card base and finished the card by adding foam squares to the back of the dog image and paced him just left of the embossed sentiment.

My second card features the whimsy Rock Star Pet cat with glasses and attitude. I had a cat named Bailey that would sit like this. I called it his sexy pose. I added the cassette stamp from the Brutus Monroe Stamp of the month and Brutus Monroe's Mix Tap background stamp for this card.

I stared by using my stamp positioner to stamp the Mix tape background in an FSJ Beach Breeze Ink. I cut it down to 3 1/2"wide by 5 1/2' tall.

I stamped the Rock Star cat onto Sweet Sentiment cardstock and colored it with my TriBlend Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I used my Pentel Slicci gold pen to add an interesting touch by outlining his cool glasses. I fussy cut this image and set it aside.

A - Using Raven Detail Ink, I stamped the cassette on to post it tape

B - I cut out the inside area of the cassette to use as a mask. I positioned it onto a piece of white cardstock and stamped the cassette in FSJ Summer Days Ink as shown

C - when you remove the post it mask, you expose a space for your sentiment

D - Using "Enjoy the Music" sentiment for Rock Star Pets stamp set, I stamped it in FSJ Beach Breeze ink and then fussy cut it out and set it aside

A - I cut a piece of black twine to 22" and knotted each end three times, applied a touch of glue to hold the knot and cut of the excess twine to create the ear buds

B - I folded the twine and added a knot 2 1/2' down from the earbuds securing the twine

C - I lightly sprayed the twine with water to slightly dampen it. I started twisting the tread tightly from the knot to about 1 1/4" from the bottom loop

D - Using water and drying it with the heat gun will help the twist keep its shape

I added foam squares behind the cat to add dimension. I glued the ear bud to the cats ears

Using Foam Tape, I attached the Mix Tape back ground centered on top of a piece of 4" wide x 5 1/2" tall yellow cardstock.

I attached the front to a white A2 card base and finished the card by adhering the cat to the lower right side of the card and positioning the twine up to the top left of the card. I added the cassette sentiment using foam tape and creating the look of tape

coming out of the cassette. Once i had the twine where I wanted it i glued it down in a couple of spots to hold it in place
