Hey, friends! Its Marie from Marie Nicole Designs! I'm so excited to share a few cards with you today featuring some subscription items for October.
INSPIRATION BOX SHAKER CARD
My first card features the
Die of the Month along with the sequin mix and a sentiment from the Inspiration Box.
I started this card by cutting four panels out of black cardstock using the
Die of the Month. I glued three of these panels together, then added a plastic window on top. Finally, I glued on the fourth panel on the top and this created my shaker window.
I then did some ink blending on the card base. I wanted to use colors that are similar to the colors from the sequin mix, so I chose Speckled Egg, Marsala, Scarlet, Aubergine, Cabana, and Oz Surface Inks. All these colors could blend together without making mud, and they matched the gorgeous jewel tones of the sequin mix.
After having my background finished, I added sequins into my window panel, and then adhered it to my card. To add a sentiment, I stamped and embossed the word, "thanks", from the stamp set in the
Inspiration Box, Extra Sentimental.
For my second card, I was inspired by the
Stamp of the Month, False Teeth, to create a fun Halloween card.
I began by stamping out the teeth using some black ink, and then I embossed over the ink with some clear embossing powder,
ICICLE. After the image was heat embossed, I colored it in with some alcohol markers, and then fussy cut it out. I cut the top row of teeth as well as the bottom row out, leaving me with two seperate rows of monster teeth.
I then die cut some letters from my stash to spell, "boo". I used some Glitterstock from Brutus Monroe, because I love the texture and the shine! I also cut out a background of trees from a die I have in my stash.
Before adding on all of my die cut elements, I wanted to ink blend a background first, so that I had some bright color shining through my dark forest trees. I used yellows and greens for my background, and then I added some of the
October Aqua Pigment of the Month, Witches Wart, over the background. I did this by adding some of the Aqua Pigment into an H2O Mister and spritzing it on. This gave the background a tone on tone green look, which also added some fun texture.
I then glued the trees over the background, and then added the letters and the teeth. I also added the sentiment from the Stamp of the Month by embossing it in Alabaster White Embossing Powder onto a strip of black cardstock. I then finished the card by adding a few googly eyes here and there, just for fun!
Thanks for having me on the blog today! I hope you enjoyed a peek at these cards and that you are inspired to go ahead and create with the
Subscription Items for the month of October!
Until next time,
Marie Nicole
