Messy Painting with Aqua Pigments
Messy painting is so freeing. . .it takes the pressure off of having to paint a perfect piece, and sometimes you're just in the mood to slap some color down! Hey everyone, it's Cassie here to share a card with you using messy painting on a detailed stamp. It's one of the techniques I use when I feel a slump trying to come on, and I find that this is one way to combat that.
I started out by stamping the Love You Floral stamp onto some Aqua Pigment Paper using Embossing Ink. Next I heat embossed some Alabaster Embossing Powder over the image. To paint, I used Aqua Pigments in the colors Fuschia, Orange, Yellow, Blue Green, and Green. I love how easily the colors can be combined to make new colors! Make sure you dry your piece in between layers so that you can intensify the colors as you go. Next I stamped the sentiment using Embossing Ink and heat embossed it in Gilded Embossing Powder. It needed more gold, so I splattered some Gilded Aqua Pigment all over the piece. Finally I attached it to a Rouge Cardstock card base.
And there you have it! A super easy, no stress, messy painting that really did spark more creativity in me. If you'd like to see exactly how I made it, you can see the video HERE on the Brutus Monroe YouTube Channel :)
Thanks for stopping by!
Cassie
