Mini Slim Birthday cards (4 Cards)
Today I thought I would take a break and share some birthday cards that I made recently using the Birthday Bears stamp set. I created 4 mini slimline cards using a sketch I found on you tube from Call Me {Crafty} Al.
The first thing I did was to stamp out the Bear images from the Birthday Bears stamp set on Perfect Blend Alcohol paper with Raven Detail ink. I then colored them in with a variety of Copic markers and then used my Scan and Cut to cut them out.
Then I cut my my card bases down. I have two that are orange and two that are white. For my mini slim cards, I like a 6.25" x 3.5" base (depending on my envelope I might have to go smaller to 6"). I used some patterned paper from my stash and the background piece are cut to 6" x 3". I cut down the smaller pieces of patterned paper to 1.5" x 3.5" and matted them on matching (to the base) cardstock which is 2" x 3.5."
I adhered the patterned paper to all the card bases and then the small matted pieces using liquid glue. Then I decided which bears and sentiments I would use for each card. The first card (above) I used the white cake eating bear and stamped the sentiment on a small white banner with Raven Detail ink. I used my shimmer pen from my stash to add some sparkle to the candle.
For the second card, I decided to use the black cupcake bear and I layered him on top of a piece of vellum cut with a Circle Foundation die. I decided to stamp the sentiment directly on the background paper using my Misti and Raven Detail ink. I used my shimmer pen from my stash to add some sparkle to the party hat and the candle.
The third and fourth card I decided to flip the card and make it a portrait style. I stamped the sentiment directly on the smaller piece again with Raven Detail ink and attached the Balloon Bear. I used a shimmer pen from my stash to add some sparkle to the balloons and the top of the heart/gift that he is holding.
Here is s close up of the sparkle on the balloons.
The fourth card also has the cake eating bear (this time as a black bear). I attached him over a vellum circle that was cut again with the Circle Foundation dies. I also stamped the sentiment in Raven Detail ink directly on the patterned paper and added some shimmer to the candle.
I love making cards like this because I can choose paper from the same pack (we all have patterned paper in our stash right? or is that just me?). Then I can mix and match the papers to create a card set fairly quickly. Thanks for stopping buy I hope you enjoyed my cards. This is my last blog post for the year. I want to wish you all a safe and happy holiday season and I look forward to sharing more in 2022!
