Oceans of Love
Hi! Kate, here. Come along with me as I create this underwater scene card using this month's Inspiration Box.
I took a card base made from Not Your Mama's cardstock and made a top folding A2 card. I used my mini distress oxide ink cubes to make a colorful background by just swiping the inks all over the panel. Then I used the Coral Reef Stencil and Candy Coat in Green to create more texture. The Candy Coat has tiny green circle sparkles and larger iridescent flakes. It makes for a nice sparkly coral!
Using a separate piece of Sea cardstock, I blended some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink through the Coral Reef Stencil and without moving the stencil (the Sticky Mat helps with this!) , sprayed some Shimmer Mist through the stencil to create a shimmery tone-on-tone effect. Taking this panel, I tore out the center section to make two border pieces that can now be popped up on my colorful coral sea card base.
I stamped some of the sea life images from the Underwater Friends set on Perfect Blend cardstock with Raven Ink and colored them with alcohol markers. Some Acrylic Bubbles make for the perfect embellishments.
