Quick and Elegant Card with Happy Rose
Hey friends!
I'm excited to be on the Brutus Monroe blog today with a gorgeous (but oh, so simple!) card for you.
To get started, I used the new Happy Rose set which is an add-on to the April Inspiration Box. You can buy this set separately, which is amazing! I used my Mini MISTI to stamp the rose in the upper left hand corner of my card stock. Then, I rotated the card stock 180 degrees and stamped it again. This gave me the stamp in the upper left and lower right corners.
Using my Mini MISTI, I also stamped the sentiment 'worry less, smile more' from the Spring Wreath stamp set. Next, I used Copic markers to color in the roses and coated each one in Nuvo's Aqua Shimmer pen in Midas Touch. Love that sparkle! I trimmed my card front down to 4 x 5.25 and matted it on a slightly larger piece of black card stock.
I got out some black gesso and applied a little to my Media Mat. I spritzed it with a bit of water and mixed it around with a paintbrush. I tapped my brush over my card front to create the pretty black splatter effect.
To finish off my card, I added a few clear sequins and mounted my card front to a top-folding A2 sized card base. This card is so versatile and elegant. I love having these types of card in my stash for that 'just because' occasion that pops up.
Hugs and love,
