Rockstar Pets with Guest Designer Ricky from Bromero Cards!
Hi everyone,
First I would like to introduce myself. My name is Ricky, and I live in Chicago, IL. I have been making cards for about 3 years. I work full time, and I am also a graduate student. My spouse’s name is Tony, and I have two pit bull fur babies named Ivy and Izel. You can find me on Instagram by searching for BromeroCards
I am honored to be a guest designer for Brutus Monroe for January.
The first stamp that I used for today’s card is Rock Star Pets.
I first stamped out the cat on some Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock. I use this cardstock when doing Copic coloring. To color the cat I used the following Copic markers: Y13, Y17, Y18, YR14, E25, and E29. After coloring the cat, I took the ray of sunshine stencil from MFT and placed it on some Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock. I then used Bo Bunny Gold Glitter Paste and spread it over the stencil. I made sure to scrape off any extra from the project and place it back in the jar. I then immediately went to the sink to clean off the stencil. If you do not, the paste will dry and ruin your stencil. While waiting for the glitter paste to dry, I cut out a black piece of card stock at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. I then cut a card base from Neenah Solar White 110lb card stock folded it in half at 4 ¼ by 5 1/2. I then cut the cat out using my Scan N Cut 2.
After cutting out the cardstock, it was time to add the second color of glitter paste. I used the same stencil and offset it to make a second set of rays. This time I used Nuvo Black Diamond glitter paste. I used the same process as before and cleaned the stencil off right away.
I then used the Memory Box smallest Hectogon die and stamped the sentiment from the stamp set on it. I stamped it in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with some gold embossing powder.
After the glitter paste was dry, I used a die cut that cut my paper at 4 x 5 1/4. I glued this down to the black cardstock and then glued those to the card base. I then took the cat and sentiment and popped those up with some 3M foam tape.
I hope you enjoy this card! If you would like, please follow me on Instagram by searching for BromeroCards. You can see other projects I have worked on as well!
Thanks again and will be back soon with another card.
