Rose Colored Greetings!
Hi there, Shannon Smith here with a spring greeting!
I am such a sucker for beautiful flowers. I am blessed to live in Arizona where I can enjoy seeing them all year long. My obsession of florals is definitely reflected in my stamp stash. Brutus Monroe has so many gorgeous floral stamp sets! Today’s project features the Enchanted Rose Background stamp.
I used embossing ink on my Enchanted Rose Background stamp. I chose to stamp this using my Misti to ensure I had evenly inked and added even pressure. I added my Gilded Embossing Powder and heat embossed my image.
I colored the biggest bloom using creamy aqua pigment orange and a paintbrush. I then used creamy light pink and creamy yellow to the other blooms. Creamy aqua pigments work great alone. No need to add water to these. I moved on to leaves next using creamy light green.
To add more depth I used regular Aqua Pigments on top of the Creamy ones. I added Coral Aqua Pigment to my orange bloom first and then added a bit of Red Aqua Pigment to deepen the contrast a bit. I added the contrast to the yellow and pink blooms and the leaves using regular Aqua Pigments in Yellow , Pink and Green.
After the panel dried, I trimmed it to 3 3/4 x 5 inches and added my sentiment (from the Super Sentimental stamp set). I added my panel to a yellow 4 × 5 1/4 inch mat. Finally I adhered them to my pink card base.
It was so much fun to play with these beautiful, vibrant colors! They kept their color fabulously even as they dried.
Don't forget to play and just have fun!
Shannon
