Sending Love from NYC- City Sidewalks Snowglobe
Welcome back! This week on the blog we are featuring a few new stamps from Brutus Monroe. Some of these new stamps include the City Sidewalks collection. These are a collection of snowglobes that contain the skylines and landmarks from several major cities in the USA. Today's project is made with the New York City snowglobe.
The base for this postcard is from Canvas Corp Brands. They have some wonderful cardstock postcards that are ready to decorate and pop into the mail. This postcard is on ivory cardstock, and the background on the front was created by stamping the sentiment from the stamp set multiple times in a repeating pattern using Raven Detail Ink. The letters that spell "NYC" are stamped using Wagon Surface Ink along with some alphabet stamps that click together. The edges around the postcard were blended a little with some Faded Jeans Distress Ink.
Next, the snowglobe was stamped out using the Misti and embossed with clear embossing powder. Embossing your images is a great way to make watercoloring a bit easier because it helps you stay in the lines. More distress inks were used to watercolor the snowglobe image. After the image was totally colored, it was fussy cut and adhered down to the postcard background.
The very last step to finish this postcard was to coat the snowglobe with glossy accents. this gave it that shiny, glassy feel to really make it look like a real snowglobe!
If you like to craft while you travel, bringing a few stamps, inks, and blank postcards is a great way to be creative on the road. Send friends and family handmade postcards from your destination!
