Hey there! This is Cassie, and I'm so excited to be here on the Brutus Monroe Blog sharing one of the projects I made as a May Guest Designer! As soon as the products showed up in the mail, I couldn't wait to get inky.
My first project for the month uses the
Brutus Monroe Outer Space stamp set along with the
Brutus Monroe Milky Way embossing powder. To create my background I used a piece of Canson XL watercolor paper cut down to 4" x 5 1/4". I covered that panel with Versamark Ink and then poured the Milky Way embossing powder all over the panel. I heat that with my heat tool until it was smooth and melted. When it was cool, I started that whole process over again, so that I could get the powder nice and thick. I think it gives the background this illusion that the moon is actually glowing, and I love that.
To make my moon, I used a circle die cut on another piece of Canson XL watercolor paper. This time I sponged some distress oxide inks over my moon in the colors Antique Linen, Pumice Stone, and Hickory Smoke. I then dropped water on my moon to give the look of craters.
My images were stamped onto to some XPress It Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then colored with alcohol markers. I fussy cut them out and then began to assemble my card. My galaxy was adhered to a slightly larger piece of black cardstock and then the whole panel was adhered to a piece of kraft cardstock. Once my card was fully assembled, I finished it off by adding a few Nuvo Dream Drops in the color Cloud 9.
I know exactly who I'm giving this card to! I sure enjoyed making it, and I hope you enjoyed seeing it. If you'd like to see more of my work you can find me over at my
YouTube Channel, where I am always coming up with something!
