Butterfly Shaker Card
Hello again!
Today's project is a fun one that was done with the help of the Fuse Tool. The Fuse Tool is great for creating custom shaker pockets, cards, and planner pages. I'm combining the Fuse Tool with my Brutus Monroe Butterfly Sentiments Stamps and Dies to create this clear shaker card.
First, I stamped and embossed the butterflies from the stamp set on vellum using the Gilded Embossing Powder along with BM Embossing Ink. Then, using the Butterfly Sentiments Dies that coordinate with the stamp set, I ran the butterflies through my Sizzix to cut them out.
I have a video here that shows the whole process in detail!
After I had my butterflies cut out, I set them aside while I fused together a pocket to hold all the shaker goodies in. The video also gives some great tips on Fusing, so if you have a Fuse Tool or are thinking about getting one, go ahead and watch!
I filled the shaker pocket with some pink, white, and gold glitter, as well as those butterflies I die cut.
On the front of the shaker card, I adhered a tag that I also added some Gilded Embossing Powder to, as well as a few other spring embellishments and a "hello" sentiment cut from black cardstock.
These shaker cards can be so much fun to mail or deliver in person. Its something a little different than the ordinary cardstock card. If you want to have a little fun with the recipient, you could also slip a gift card inside the pocket before sealing it, so that the recipient has to risk getting "glitter bombed" in order to get their gift card!
If you wanted to make a shaker pocket for your planner as well, you could go ahead and leave some room on one side in order to punch a hole to clip into your planner binder. Then, either slip some small photos inside the pocket, or embellish them on the front! So many fun ideas!
I love using the die cuts as shaker fillers, too, because it gives a little more interest in addition to the glitter and sequins.
Until next time,
Marie Nicole
