Sticky Note Wallet Featuring Fabulous Flamingo Paper
Hello crafty friends! Lauren here, sharing a fun little project I made with the Fabulous Flamingo Paper pack! I followed the basic design from a tutorial by Scrimping Mommy, an amazing papercrafter on YouTube, shown in this video I'm linking here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0Y2rqIvqyI
I prepped the chipboard flamingo first with white gesso, so that the Coral embossing powder would show up. For certain lighter colors, if you heat emboss them on the dark brown chipboard, it will fade into the brown and you won't be able to see the color. The white gesso helped the pretty coral color come out and match the coral/peach tone in the paper! I squished my embossing ink onto the gessoed surface once it was dry, and heat embossed 3 layers of Coral Reef EP on the body and 2 layers of Raven EP on the legs. I glued it onto the front of the wallet and it was the perfect touch to the flap for opening this wallet up.
There is also a tiny magnet that holds the flap in place when it is closed. Don't be fooled by the size of the magnets - they are so powerful!
My day job is working in the schools, so I thought these would make cute gifts for teacher colleagues! It holds two 3x3 sticky note pads, and there is a little pocket on the bottom flap that fit my stick tabs perfectly. Teachers love sticky notes ;) Here's a quick video clip of how it opens and closes!
