When I Grow Up: Pilot by Stephen Kropf

When I Grow Up: Pilot by Stephen Kropf

We asked Stephen Kropf from 'Stampin' Steve' http://stampinsteve.blogspot.com/ to be a guest blogger for the December release.  Stephen, professional dog groomer by day - card maker by night, lives in Ontario, Canada. He accidentally fell into the wonderful word of card making in 2014 and never looked back. Stamping and Copic coloring are a passion of his and he enjoys sharing that passion with others. To purchase any of the Brutus Monroe products simply go to brutusmonroe.com.
Hi Friends! It is Stephen here from Stampin’ Steve. I got a call a few weeks back asking if I would be interested in creating a few projects for the Brutus Monroe Blog…it was an obvious yes from me and I am so honored to be here today. I hope you had an amazing Holiday season and are super excited to ring in the New Year with your creative juices flowing.
When I Grow Up - Pilot
For my second card, I again colored her up using my Copics using the following markers
Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, E50, R20
Green on Uniform - W7, G28, G46, G43
Gold Accents on Uniform - Y17, Y15, Y13
Hair - E09, YR18, YR14
Plane - Y17, Y15, Y13
Hat - E29, E27, E23
Goggles/Pants - E57, E55, E53
Scarf - W9, W7, W5
To create the cloud background, I did some Ink blending using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and a cloud stencil. If you don’t have a stencil like this, don’t worry, you can easily create your own. Simply grab a scrap piece of card stock and cut some scalloped arches in various sizes and this technique will work exactly the same way. The key is to start stencilling at the top of the paper and ink blended all the way down to the bottom to create the clouds
to create the layout for my card, I pulled card stock with colours that were similar to the colours I used on the image…greens, greys, and khakis.
I used a few stitched dies to add some extra yet subtle details and layered everything together. I felt like the layout was lacking something, so I used elements from the Abstract Art stamp set and stamped the images overtop to create a tone on tone look. To Finish off the card, I added numerous Nuvo Crystal Drops in the colour Ebony Black.
I hope you enjoyed my card creations featuring 3 of the upcoming releases from Brutus Monroe.
Until next time - I Hope you have a creative day
Stephen
