Winter Embossed Resist Background
Hey crafty friends, Lauren here with a wintery card using one of the new background stamps from the Unity/Brutus Monroe collaboration! I don't know what it is about this stamp, but I can't stop making tree backgrounds! I've made so many! Everyone in my family is getting a tree card this year.
For this card, I heat embossed the background stamp onto aqua pigment paper with Alabaster EP. I wet the paper first, and then used aqua pigments in the colors Blue and Magenta to make a wash of color on the background. I overlapped the colors in the middle for a smooth gradient effect, and they make a lovely purple tone where they mix.
While the background was drying, I stamped the reindeer from the "Oh Deer" stamp set in Raven detail ink and colored it with Copics. I fussy cut the deer and went around the edges with a black marker. With a plastic palette knife, I swiped some "Fallen Snow" glitter glaze onto Alabaster cardstock in the shape of some snowy hills. When they were dry I cut them out with scissors and adhered them to the bottom of the panel.
After securing the deer on one of the snow drifts, I heat embossed the sentiment onto Raven cardstock with Alabaster EP, and trimmed it into a banner shape
Have you used any of the new backgrounds yet? They're awesome! Post your creations on social media, and don't forget to use the hashtags #BrutusMonroe and #CreateYourOwnEnding so we can see!
